Diving and Snorkeling in Key Largo

General Information

Every Tuesday and Saturday we offer one day excursions to Key Largo’s world famous “John Pennekamp Marine Sanctuary”. This protected area offers some of the most prolific corals and tropical fish life in the entire Florida Keys. Divers and snorkelers alike enjoy this tropical marine park with it’s great diversity of marine life and corals and beautiful blue water.

Depth Range:  10′ – 60′ (3-20 meters)

Average Visibility:  40′ – 100′

Water Temperature: Winter – 70o / Summer – 86o

Check in time is 10:00 am at South Beach Divers to issue gear and complete the necessary paperwork. We depart via our vans at 10.45am and stop in Florida City (about half way to the Keys) for lunch at a Subway Sandwich Store or similar. You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks if you prefer. We arrive in Key Largo at 12.30pm and board the boat for a 1pm departure. It is a 25 min ride out to the first reef and we will dive/snorkel there for 1:25min. We then move to a second reef and dive/snorkel there for another 1:25 min. The boat returns to the dock at 5:15pm and we return to South Beach at 7:00 pm.

Prices

Transportation to and from Key Largo from our store is available at no charge as long as you request it during your reservation. If you prefer to drive your own car you can follow us or we will give you a map to navigate on your own.

Snorkel trips cost $119.00 and include use of mask, fins and a flotation vest. As a Covid precaution, we no longer rent snorkels. We offer a wide selection of new snorkels starting at just $7.95

Guided two tank dive trips cost $149 including tanks and weights. We also offer multiple dive discounts. Pre pay for 5 trips save 10% or save even more with 10 trips and save 15%. These packages are for one person and are non- refundable or transferable and must be used in two years. Certain special trips such as The Spiegel Grove and night dives are $10 extra. Due to Covid 19, we no longer include a mouthpiece on our rental regulators. They must be purchased new for $7.95 and you will get to keep it at the end of the day.

Passengers (bubble watchers) are welcome on the boat. The fee is the same as a snorkeler.

Snacks and fresh fruit are often provided on the boat but it is best to bring your own snacks to be sure. There are coolers with ice for you to use for your own snacks and drinks. All the boats have two fresh water showers with shampoo and conditioner. There is a head (bathroom) on the boat and plenty of shade if you want it.

Private charters, as well as Instructors, Divemaster’s and Guides, are available by request.

Schedule

  • Reservations are required with a major credit card
  • We require a nationally recognized certification card if you are SCUBA diving. We are able to verify PADI and SSI divers without their c-card. We also offer certification card replacements
  • We offer multiple dive discounts!

Other Dive Trips:

  • Dive and snorkel trips are also available in Key Largo, Islamorada, Looe Key and Jupiter every day at 8am and 1pm if you have a vehicle to get there. Please contact us for more information about these trips.

Cancellation Policy:

  • We require 24 hours notice prior to the check in time to change or cancel a reservation with no fee. For less than 24 hours notice you will be charged the full price of the trip per person that is reserved. Private charters and groups require 72 hours notice to cancel or reschedule a trip unless otherwise specified.

  • All Spiegel Grove trips have a 72 hour cancellation policy due to the limited number of spaces on those trips.
  • If a trip is canceled due to weather or any unforeseen event, there will be no charge to the deposit and if you have pre-paid you will receive a full refund via the method you paid with.
